This kit includes everything needed to create a stunning recirculating fountain that resembles real basalt. Each column is made from genuine basalt molds and handcrafted in the USA using a blend of fiberglass, resin, and natural stone, ensuring a lifelike and durable design.

Unlike real basalt, which is heavy and difficult to install, these faux basalt columns are lightweight, making assembly easy. Each column has a sturdy base that can be secured with decorative gravel. The provided tubing and plumbing fittings are designed for straightforward installation into the fountain's recessed top area. To enhance the atmosphere, you can add a color-changing or warm white Fountain Light (#84072, #84008 sold separately) to illuminate the flowing water.

The AquaBasin® 45, included in the kit, is a sub-surface water basin that can hold up to 98 gallons of water. Constructed from high-density polyethylene and backed by a lifetime warranty, this basin offers easy pump access, designated plumbing and light placements, and optimal water circulation. The kit also includes an energy-efficient Ultra 2000 Water Pump to maintain water flow through the fountain.

How are the Faux Basalt Columns made?

These columns are handcrafted using fiberglass sheets, resin, and stone aggregate.

What if the surface gets damaged or chipped?

Surfaces can be easily repaired with commonly available products such as:

  • Black shoe polish
  • Permanent marker
  • Outdoor paint (Chocolate brown and Lamp black)

What plumbing configurations are available?

Each column comes with 3/4″ flexible tubing and a small clear fitting. This fitting can be replaced with one of the Aquascape Fountain Lights to illuminate the water outlet. For higher flow rates, the column can accommodate 1″ Schedule 40 PVC pipe.

Can I secure the base in public or windy areas?

The columns are designed to withstand typical conditions, and gravel is usually sufficient for stability. However, for added security, you can drill through the fiberglass base and anchor it to the desired surface using hardware or zip ties.

Can the base be modified for custom use?

YES! The base can be cut to fit into tighter spaces using a grinder or Sawzall. Proper eye and breathing protection should be worn while cutting fiberglass. Note: If parts of the base are removed, ensure the columns are adequately supported and secured during installation.
